Cardamom Phirni Recipe

Phirni is an Indian Version of rice custard cooked with milk, sugar and cardamom green. Kheer and phirni is very similar between each other, basically both are rice puddings. The only difference is Kheer -usual using basmati Rice(cooked with milk) and  Phirni – usual using grounds rice ( dissolved in milk ). Phirni all the time serve it chilled and it is usually prepare during Ramadan for Iftar. If you want to prepare instant dessert this is the best option for you to enjoy Phirni. Follow my easy recipe with step by step pictures.

Ingredients Quantity
Milk 1 litre
Sugar 1 cup
Cardamom green 2
Rice 4 teaspoon
Cashew nuts 1/4 cup

Method:

1. Wash and soak the rice for 2 hours. Take soaked rice and cardamom green along with 1/2 cup water in a grinder and grind it to make fine paste.

2. Boil the milk on high heat.

3. When the milk starts boiling, add ground paste into the milk. While adding ground paste keep mixing it so that you can get smoothest phirni. (Keep mixing it with one hand while pour the paste ). Then add sugar and cook phirni on high heat for about 2-3 minutes. Garnish with cashew nuts and phirni is ready.
