Spicy Aloo Vada Recipe | A Delicious Aloo Pakora / Batata Vada / Potato Cutlet

Aloo Vada Or Aloo Pakora  is very Popular Deep fried snack . It is generally taken during evenings and is always served hot with sauce like coriander chutney, Tamarind chutney  and tomato ketchup.I Like to make Pakora for parties because it is easy to make , serve and everybody Loves pakoras.

Preparation Time : 20 minutes

Cooking Time : 10 Minutes

Ingredients Quantity
Potato 6 medium size
Onion 1
Green chillies (chopped) 5
Tomato 2
Garlic (chopped) 5 flakes
Ginger (chopped) 1/2 inch
Cumin Seeds 1/4 teaspoon
Carom seeds ( Ajwain) 1/4 teaspoon
Red chilli powder 1/2 teaspoon
Turmeric powder 1/4 teaspoon
Salt to taste
Chat Powder 1/2 teaspoon
Gram flour 2 cup

Method:

1. Boil Potatoes into pressure cooker till cooked thoroughly.

2. Now peeled potatoes.

3. Then Mashed Potatoes.

4. Heat oil in a pan , add chopped onion ,green chillies ,cumin seeds ,carom seeds ,ginger and garlic . Stir for 2 minutes or  till onions are light brown.

5. Then add Tomato , turmeric powder ,red chilli powder , Chat powder and salt.Fry till the spices are well cooked as shown below .

6. Now This cooked mixture add to mashed potatoes. Mix the potatoes with the spice mixture.

7. Make equal sized medium balls of the potato mixture. Flatten them a little as it helps to deep fry them easily.

8. Now take the gram-flour, add salt and red chilli powder to it.  With water make a  thick batter as shown below.

9. Dip each Potato ball in the gram flour batter.

10. Heat oil in a pan , add the potato balls coated with gram flour paste. Fry them till golden brown.

11. Add 5-6 balls at a time as shown below.

12. Serve hot. Aloo Vadas / Potato cutlet are served with green chutney and tamarind-jaggery sweet chutney or tomato sauce .
