Radha Ballabhi Loochi Recipe | Loochi Recipe

The name of this dish is new to me called “loochi “. I tried this Loochi for the first time and it turned out really soft and yummy. I went to my cousin’s house and had this Loochi for the first time there and it was awesome. I decided to make this for my blog. This loochi well goes with pickle and curd. You can serve it in breakfast, healthy and tasty .

Even you can also serve this one with your tea-time snacks. Follow my easy recipe with step by step pictures.

Preparation Time: 10 Minutes

Cooking Time: 5- 7 Minutes

Ingredients for Dough:

Ingredients Quantity
All purpose flour 2 cup
White till 1 teaspoon
Clarified butter / ghee 3 teaspoon
Salt 1/4 teaspoon
Cumin seeds 1/2 teaspoon

Ingredients for Stuffing:

White split lentils/ Urad daal dhuli 1 cup
Clarified butter/ ghee 3 teaspoon
Cumin seeds 1/2 teaspoon
Salt 1/4 teaspoon
White till 1 teaspoon
Sugar 1 teaspoon
Oil for deep frying

Method:

1. Clean, wash and soak urad daal in running water for 1 hours. Strain it and grind the daal coarsely. You don’t need to add water while grinding the daal.

2. Heat the non-stick pan with ghee and saute with white till and cumin seeds.

3. When it crackles add ground paste, salt and sugar. Cook it on slow heat until daal turns light golden in color. Keep mixing it with spatula while cooking. Now stuffing is ready, keep it aside.

4. Take flour, white till, cumin seeds, clarified butter and salt in a broad bowl and knead into a smooth and soft dough by adding small amount of water as shown below in the image.

5. Divide the dough into 8 equal portions. Take one portion of the dough and roll it like a puri or 75mm circle. Put 2 teaspoon of the stuffing in the centre of circle and seal it tightly from all the sides.

6. Roll it again in a 75 mm circle or like a puri.

7. Heat the wok with oil and deep fry it on medium heat until golden and crisp from both the sides. Drain it on tissue paper to absorbs extra oil, Loochi is ready, Serve hot with your favourite beverages, pickle and salad.
