
Make simple and easy tuvar dal by cooking it with tomatoes, green chillies and seasoning it with fried onions, Cumin seeds , Red chillies and asafoetida. Learn how to make tuvar daal.

| Ingredients | Quantity |
| Red Gram (Tuvar dal) | 1 cup |
| Turmeric Powder | 1/2 teaspoon |
| Tomato | 1 |
| Green chilli | 3 |
| Garlic | 5 flakes |
| Onion | 1 |
| Cumin Seeds | 1/2 teaspoon |
| Coriander Leaves | 2 teaspoon |
| Red chilli flakes | 3-4 |
| Salt | to taste |
| Asafoetida | a large pinch |
Method:
1. pour 4 cups water into cooker , add red gram , turmeric powder , chopped tomato ,green chilli ,and salt to taste.
2. Close cooker ,bring to full pressure on high heat , reduce heat and cook for 5 minutes.
3. Open cooker , mash dal well with back of a ladle to blend with liquid.
4. For tempering ,heat oil in a pan for about 1 minute , add cumin seeds ,garlic flakes chopped and chopped onions. when crackling, add red chillies,coriander leaves and asafoetida.
5. Stir for a few second and pour over dal , stir and serve hot with chapattis.
