It is said that a picture is worth a thousand words, today I let the picture speak to you. So what is it saying, I think you can read pictures well. Adding two of them for your pleasure. And if you need more than just pictures, below is the recipe to enjoy this delicious dates bars.
Preparation Time: 10 Minutes
Cooking Time: 25 Minutes
Ingredients | Quantity |
Dates | 2 cup |
Quick Oats | 1/2 cup |
Flour | 1 cup |
Butter | 1/2 cup |
Sugar | 1 cup |
Baking soda | 1/4 teaspoon |
Coconut grated | 1/4 cup |
Almonds | 5-6 no |
Cashew nuts | 5-6no |
Roasted Peanuts | 1/4 cup |
Water | 1 cup |
Method:
1. Take pitted dates in a sauce pan and add 1 cup water and 1/4 cup sugar.
2. Cook it on low heat for about 10 minutes and stirring constantly until it becomes thick as shown below in the picture. Let it cool and blend it coarsely.
3. Take remaining sugar in a big bowl and add melted butter. Mix it well or till sugar dissolves completely.
4. Add flour and oats in a bowl.
5. Now add all dry fruits and baking soda in a bowl and mix it well.
6. It will look like crumbled mixture. Grease bottom and sides of 13×9-inch pan.( I used my cake mould for baking ) Press half of the crumb mixture evenly in bottom of pan or in cake mould.
7. Spread with ground dates and top with remaining crumb mixture. you can press lightly the crumbs mixture.
8. Heat the oven to 180 C and bake it for about 20-25 minutes ( Mine took 25 minutes). Let it cool for about 10-15 minutes and cut it into your little heart desired shape. I cut it in square shape,keep it in fridge and serve chilled.
