Matar Paneer is a popular main course Indian dish, made with green peas, paneer, and blend of spices. I use green peas a lot not just because it has got a supercharged nutritional profile but for its delicious flavour, wonderful texture, and eye-catching color. Paneer | 250 gram |
Onion | 2 |
Bay leaf | 2 |
Tomato | 4 |
Ginger | 1/2 inch piece |
Garlic | 7 flakes |
Cumin seeds | 1 teaspoon |
Cardamom brown | 2 |
Black pepper | 1/4 teaspoon |
Red chilli powder | 1 teaspoon |
Coriander powder | 1 teaspoon |
Turmeric powder | 1/8 teaspoon |
Salt | to taste |
Method:
1. Cut paneer into cubes and deep fry for few minutes. Grind ginger, garlic, cumin seeds, black pepper, tomato and cardamom brown to make a smooth paste.
2. Heat oil in a kadhai or pan, Sauté onion and bay leaf till onions are light brown. Now add grind paste, red chilli powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder and salt.
3. Cook for 2-3 minutes, then add chopped tomato. Cook covered on medium heat till tomato is mushy.
4. Now add green peas, paneer and 2 cup water. Cook covered on medium heat for another 5 minutes. Garnish with coriander leaves and serve hot with Chapattis or matar pulav.
