I am a big fan of creating recipes out of leftovers I have in my kitchen, I have shared a couple of recipes that were created to utilize things that were not going to be used for a long time.
Corn Flour halwa is one such recipe which I created to use the cornflour and I frankly did not have any other container to store it for later, so I decided to prepare this halwa.
At first, it may sound a bit weird that you can make something like this from Corn flour but yes you can do and it delicious as well. That’s what my siblings told me when presented this halwa to them.
It is has a bit jelly like texture and feels the same. So, it may satisfy your sudden urge consume jelly if you like them.
Below is the recipe of Corn Flour Halwa with step by step pictures. Follow it and have fun.

Ingredients | Quantity |
Corn flour | 1/2 cup |
Sugar | 1 1/2 cup |
Food color | a pinch |
Water | 2 1/2cups |
Cashew nuts | 1/4 cup |
Clarified butter/ Ghee | 3 teaspoon |
Green cardamom powder | 1/4 teaspoon |
Method:
1. Mix 1 cup water, corn flour and food color in a bowl. Heat the pan with ghee and roast cashew nuts on slow heat till light golden in color. Take out the roasted cashew nuts in a plate.
2. In the same pan add 1 1/2 cup water, sugar and cardamom powder. Let it boil for 2-3 minutes. Now add corn flour mixture into sugar syrup with continuous mixing with spatula.
3. Cook it on medium flame for 5-6 minutes with continuous mixing with spatula or until the mixture gets thick and sticky, add roasted cashew nuts and mix it well. Grease the plate with ghee and pour the mixture on greased plate. Flat it with spatula and let it rest for 2-3 hours.
4. Cut it into a diagonal shape and enjoy this delicious halva. If you like chocolate, pour some melted chocolate on halva and treat yourself.
