I am not a fan on Mushrooms, but someone in my family is, and I am constantly reminded of its existence every other week. But there is a good thing about people who love Mushroom. Serve them anything that has mushrooms in it and they will love it. If you are someone who loves mushroom or know someone who loves it, this one is a perfect dish to make.
Matar Mushrooms are easy to make, what I have done with this recipe is, I’ve added mushrooms to the regular aloo matar curry, replaced a few ingredients and we have an amazing recipe ready for Mushroom lovers.

Ingredients | Quantity |
Mushroom | 250 gram |
Green peas | 1 cup |
Vegetable oil | 4 tbsp |
Ginger-garlic paste | 1 teaspoon |
Fenugreek leaves | 1 tbsp |
Onions | 2 |
Cloves | 2 |
Green Cardamoms | 2 |
fennel seeds | 1 teaspoon |
Turmeric powder | 1/4 teaspoon |
Tomatoes | 3 |
Yogurt | 1/2 cup |
Salt | to taste |
Garam masala powder | 1/2 teaspoon |
Red chilli powder | 1 teaspoon |
Method:
1. Grind onions, cloves, green cardamom, fennel seeds, turmeric powder to make fine paste. You can add a small amount of water while grinding to make fine paste.
2. Grind Tomato to make the puree.
3. Cut each mushroom into 2 pieces.
4. Heat the wok with 1 tbsp oil and fry mushroom for 2-3 minutes or light golden in color. Take it out the fried mushroom in a plate, In the same wok add 1 tbsp oil and fry green peas for a minute.
5. Heat another wok with oil and add ginger-garlic, ground onion & spice paste. Cook it for 2-3 minutes or till oil shows separately. Then add ground tomato , yogurt, red chilli powder, salt, garam masala powder, fenugreek leaves/kasoori methi and cook for another 2-3 minutes.
6. Add fried mushroom and peas into the the wok along with 1 cup of water. Cook covered on low to medium heat for 5 minutes.
7. Garnish with coriander leaves, serve hot with chapatti and rice.
