Kabuli Chana | 2 cup |
Onion | 2 |
Bay leaf | 2 |
Cinnamon stick | 1/2 inch stick |
Cumin seeds | 1/2 teaspoon |
Cardamom brown | 1 |
Cardamom green | 2 |
Pepper | 1/4 teaspoon |
Ginger | 1/2 inch piece |
Garlic | 6 cloves |
Nutmeg | a small pinch |
Red chili powder | 1 teaspoon |
Turmeric powder | 1/4 teaspoon |
Coriander powder | 1 teaspoon |
Tomato | 2 |
Method:
1. Grind onion, ginger, garlic, cumin seeds, cardamom brown, cardamom green, pepper and nutmeg to make a fine paste as shown below in the picture.
2. Heat the oil in a pan, fry onion and bay leaf till onions are light golden brown. Then add chopped tomato and salt. Cook till tomato is mushy.
3. Now add grind paste, coriander powder, turmeric powder, red chili powder and 1 cup water. Cook spices on medium heat till oil shows separately.
4. Soak Kabuli chana overnight. Boil Kabuli chana along with salt in pressure cooker. Now add boiled chana in spices and mix well. Cook on slow heat for 2 minutes. Garnish with coriander leaves and serve hot with Puri or Batura.
