Before posting the recipe of Bathua Daal, I had doubts if people have heard of it or not as it is a regional recipe. But people liked it.
So, here is another recipe that contains bathua and makes a nice breakfast item. Also makes a great lunchbox food.

Ingredients | Quantity |
Bathua leaves / Goosefoot leaves | 250 gram |
Wheat flour | 2 cup |
Salt | 1/2 teaspoon |
Carom seeds | 1/4 teaspoon |
Green chilli | 4 |
Oil | for cooking |
Method:
1.Take bathua leaves and wash it carefully to remove the mud . Now boil it in a pan for about 5 minutes as shown below in the picture. While boiling you don’t need to add water. Switch off the flame when you see the leaves is reduced in a quantity.
2.Take flour, carom seeds, green chilli, salt, bathua leaves and juice of this leaves. Mix it well and add small amount of water to knead the dough.
3.Take an orange size ball from the dough and roll it like a chapatti as shown below in the picture.
4.Heat the tawa and put the paratha on it. Drizzle some oil and cook the paratha on medium flame until light golden spots appear from both the sides. Bathua paratha is ready, serve hot with your favourite pickle or chutneys or raita.
