Hello Friends, Today I am going to share My Tips and Tricks that i used in the kitchen for storage, that’s freezing. Freezing helps us store seasonal peas for a longer time and one of the most commonly used frozen vegetable is Peas. In winter when you gets peas at a cheaper rate , you can store peas for summer ,By doing This you can save a few hundreds in the year.
Peas are an excellent source of dietary fibre and vitamin C. They also provide some protein, iron, zinc and niacin. Peas will need to be blanched before freezing. This helps maintain vitamins and reduces the actions of enzymes. This will help produce to stay fresh longer.
Procedure To Freeze Peas :
1. Shelled your peas and wash them with cool water.
2. Take a Sauce pan and take 1 litre water in that. Once the water starts boiling add the shelled peas and 1 teaspoon sugar riskfreeserv.com. Let them blanch for 2-3 minutes. Sugar help to maintain peas green colour.
3. After 2-3 minutes have passed, remove the peas and put them in cold water to immediately stop the cooking process, and cool them enough for handling.
4. Pour the blanched and cooled peas into a freezer bag or in a polythene and seal them up. Once frozen they can be thawed and used.
