1. While cooking potato , Cut them into half and add a pinch of turmeric powder. This makes the potatoes cook faster.

2. For cleaning smell of hands after chopping onions , just rub them on a stainless steel spoon. The steel is supposed to absorb the smell.

3. To remove black stains in cooker or pan, add a small piece of lemon and 1/2 cup water. Heat for few minutes and wash immediately. By doing this you can clean your cooker faster.

4. While cutting boiled potatoes, dip the knife in cold water.This is the way to avoid sticking to knife.

5. Never put citrus fruits or tomatoes in the fridge. The low temperatures degrade the aroma and flavour.

6. While cooking if rice is burned, Just place a piece of white bread on top of the rice for 10 minutes to remove the burned flavour.

7. While adding tempering  to any curry or dal, add it once the curry is completely cooked. Close the lid immediately & remove from flame. This will retain the seasoning aroma. Do not cook after adding tempering.

8. Always cook pulav or rice on very low flame.

9.Use water always in 1(rice) : 1/2 water) for pulav or rice.

10.Wash vegetables before peeling or cutting to preserve the water soluble vitamins.

11.To make 1 cup of dal, add  At least 3  cups of water.

12. If you forget to soak chana ,Rajma overnight. Just soak the chana,Rajma in the boiling water for an hour before cooking.

13. Add some hot oil and 1/4 tsp of baking soda in batter while making pakoda, pakoda will be soft and light.
