Because even I did not such thing exist until a friend told me about it. I am fortunate have to such great people around me who value cooking and the art of creating recipes.
Thanks to them, I have an unlimited supply of ideas for recipes. I should write a book about it someday :-).
Well, that’s a topic for some other day, let’s just focus on Bread Halwa.
If you ever tried my previous experiments like Egg Halwa or Lauki ki Barfi, then you can’t go wrong with one as well.
Below is the recipe of Bread halwa along with step by step pictures, I am sure you are going to love this one as well.
Preparation Time: 5 Minutes
Cooking Time: 15 Minutes

Ingredients | Quantity |
Bread | 8 slices |
Milk | 1 cup |
Sugar | 3 tablespoon |
Ghee | 2 tablespoon |
Cardamom green powder | 1/4 teaspoon |
Food color | 1/8 teaspoon |
Almonds | for garnish |
Method:
1. Take bread Slices and remove the brown part from the sides of the bread. Heat the heavy bottomed wok with ghee.
2. Crush the bread slices with your hands and add it into the wok. Add milk in the wok.
3. Cook it on medium heat for 2-3 minutes till the bread slices is mushy. Add sugar, food color and cardamom green powder in the wok.
4. Cook it on low flame for 10 minutes with continuous stirring with a spatula till the bread slices mashed up completely with the milk and nice aroma comes from the halva. Garnish with almonds, serve hot.

- Cardamom green powder 1/4 teaspoon
- Food color 1/8 teaspoon
