Matar Chola Recipe

I prepared this Matar Chola for my Iftar today and it’s amazing in taste as well. The combination of tomato, onion and green chilli enhances the flavours of this delectable dish. I love all kind of chaat varieties like pani puri, dahi vada, sev chaat, aloo tikki and dahi phulki. I like to prefer this spicy chola with samosaSmile. It can be prepared just in 10 minutes without more effort and is perfect for bachelor’s. You don’t have to grind any ingredients in it. Follow my easy step by step recipe with pictures.

Cooking Time: 10 Minutes

Ingredients Quantity
Chola Matar 2 cup
Onion 1
Tomato 2
Green chilli 3
Red chilli powder 1 teaspoon
Turmeric powder 1/4 teaspoon
Garlic paste 1  teaspoon
Garam masala powder 1 teaspoon
Salt as needed
Coriander leaves for garnish
Oil 3 teaspoon


1.Soak Matar Chola overnight. Take soaked Chola into pressure cooker along with two glass of water and add chopped onion, tomato, green chilli, red chilli powder, turmeric powder, garlic paste, oil and salt. Close pressure cooker and cook on high flame for one whistle. Then keep the flame low and cook for about 8-10 minutes.

2. Open pressure cooker and the Cholas will look like this as shown in picture. Then add garam masala powder and mix it well. Garnish with coriander leaves, onion,tomato and lemon. Chola is ready and serve hotSmile
